The Through the Wire project was the first intense project we did our Sophomore year. You and a partner were tasked with finding an activist that made some sort of impact to the world and memorialize them through string art. The first step was answering an essential question "How powerful can a voice be", we answered this with a one page essay talking about the person/activist we chose. The next step was choosing a photo of our activist did some touch up through Photoshop, printed a poster of it, and nailed the outline of the face and some of the body. Once all the nails were hammered in we strung the string through the nails to add detail to our activist.
I deiced to chooses Jackie Robinson because baseball plays a really big part in my life, and I wanted to find someway of connecting my life and hobbies to the project and make it meaningful. My final product didn't turn out as well as I hoped for, but it shows a lot of hard work and perseverance through the struggle we had to overcome through out the string art process.
