The Origami project was our segue into geometry. We researched a ton of different origami pieces, and out of those we found we hand picked one that wouldn't be too simple but not too difficult to complete. This project was to show our knowledge of finding the basics and difficulties of shapes.
The origami piece that I chose was a water wheel that ended up being a lot more challenging than I expected. Each individual piece was made its own way, and I had to basically do that about 50 times. Once we were finished we had to calculate surface area, perimeter, area, volume, etc... It made it really difficult because the shape itself was in a circular shape and paper doesn't just bend the way you want it to. You have to specifically fold it and manipulate the paper so you can get the desired outcome.
